Since my last post I’ve decided that as I can’t buy more hours for each day I’ll just have to make better use of the ones I’ve got. I wasted quite a lot of time looking at various complicated time management systems, but then I came across The Pomodoro Technique.
It was developed by Francesco Cirillo. It’s simple, fun and, best of all, it works!
When I am Rich I will buy a genuine, bright red tomato timer. Until then I’ll make do with what I’ve got.
Anyone know the Italian for silver egg?

I know several people that set timers when they get on their facebook or online games. They don't have to worry about losing track of time.
If I did that, I think I'd throw it out the window the first time it went off when I was in the middle of something good!
I'm terrible at time management, but I don't' stress about it. There's always tomorrow, or I'll be dead... Either way it doesn't matter! LOL
My gran lived to be 100. Her rule for everything was...don't plan. I guess, meaning that we don't know what life has in store for us. Anyway - in most things, I don't plan what I am going to do , I just get on and do it!!! It leads for a haphazard existence but I certainly get stuff done!
Nice to see you blogging again.
Nice to see you back and as quirky as ever.
I have read of this technique, possibly in one of these life style newspaper sections. I am not sure that having a timer go off would work for me.
Besides, I am rather cynical about the whole exercise: looking at the link makes me think that it's all a ploy to part us from our money.
Uovo d'argento is the direct translation.
I've heard of this technique before. I hope it helps you to find some time for yourself in a day. Even 15 minutes!

Thanks everyone. I'm not organised enough to use a Pomodoro for most of my life but I am finding it useful to keep me focussed when I've got a writing deadline to meet. I'm very easily distracted!
Friko - I'm just using the idea, not the merchandise - yet.
Jamie - Thank you! Uovo d'argento. Yes, I like the sound of that!
I am pretty good with time management with only occasional lapses like blogger. I think I would probably be like Lily and throw a timer out the window if it went off when I was really into something interesting. But then I have clocks all over the house.
Good to see you again, I was out of town when you did this post.
