Artist at work!

I went to an art exhibition recently. Some wonderful paintings, but a bit pricey for me.
It got me thinking though …
I could do with some new pictures on my walls. If I can’t buy any perhaps I could paint some myself.
It’s worth a try. You never know, this could be the start of a whole new career!

I did some water painting in the past, and found that I really love it! It's my dream to take some classes in the future and spend more time with it.

I've always fancied some water colour classes so if you fancy running some do let me know :-) Good luck with your painting.

How expensive are paints? Cut up some fancy wallpaper, frame it and put it on the wall.

Weird; I've appeared twice. That must cost a bit?

I'm sure, as creative as you are, you will paint a masterpiece!

All the best! Please show us your masterpiece once you're painted it. As much as the thought of painting myself has occured to me, I never tried. I know all I can draw is wonky match box...

It would most definitely be fun to try. I tried oils once and discovered that medium was not for me, I would like to try water colors.

Like Libertine said, please show us your work once it's completed.

Thanks for all your encouragement. Not sure if my efforts will be fit for public display, Libertine and SQ, but perhaps I could invite you for a private viewing.
Friko - yes, art materials are expensive but luckily my children bought me some a couple of years ago when I mentioned to one of them that I had enjoyed doing art at school and regretted dropping it when it came to choosing exam subjects.
I've done a bit of sketching and doodling but haven't yet produced anything worthy of framing.
But I will TRY!

Good luck Linda. And please do show us the results.

I bet you'll come up with some great pics. But, as someone else said, if all else fails, it's amazing what effects you can achieve with bits and bobs to hand.

after looking at some art prices the other day I am thinking the same thing....why can't I make some of my own? After I finish painting the walls...I might give a canvas or a paper a try...
