Less is more

I needed a new belt to wear with jeans. My old one was frayed. No problem when it was hidden under layers of winter woollies but I’ve switched to lighter tops now.

The shop had dozens of belts on display, all different colours and styles, but it didn’t take me long to find one I liked.

Did I choose the most expensive one? Or the one with the trendy designer label?

No, this one is perfect because it put a big smile on my face. You can’t see it, but on the inside is printed a magic word - SMALL

It doesn’t take much to make me feel like a million dollars!

What little thing makes you feel Rich?

Strawberries! They're just getting ripe on my allotment and for a few weeks I'll be able to indulge in large quantities of fresh strawberries as well as having enough to make lots of jam.

SHAMROCKS....they're popping up all over the front border. They always make me feel lucky when I see them, as if something good is about to happen.

Sunshine on the hills.
It doesn’t cost anything at all.

Other than? A bar of chocolate.

Oh, yes, Patsy! And home-grown strawberries always taste better than shop bought ones.
I haven't got any shamrock in my garden, Susan. Perhaps that's where Im going wrong. I'll have to get some.
I totally agree, Friko. A little sunshine makes everything look better. And I love chocolate but I try to ration it otherwise I'll have to buy a bigger belt!

There is a richness in the freedom of time spent where land ends and the waters of the ocean begins.

I'm planning to take a trip to the coast soon, Jamie. A magical place indeed.
