Home, Sweet Home

When I am Rich I’ll buy a strong, roomy, weatherproof nest box for this pair of collared doves.

I don’t know why they’ve decided that this would be an ideal place to raise a family

or why they haven’t yet worked out that their nest blows away every time there’s a strong wind

but I think they deserve a reward for persistence.

How sad. I hope there weren't broken eggs on the ground. Forlorn hope though, I guess.

Fortunately, no eggs or baby birds - just two frustrated adults! I'm wondering if this is a young pair attempting their first nest and learning by trial and error. Another pair tried to build a nest in the same spot a couple of years ago and only gave up after several weeks of hard but fruitless work.

They do deserve a reward for all that hard work. Hopefully they will find a better location soon. Reading your comment above, I'm glad there were no eggs to be broken.
