I was looking out at my real-life garden, and making plans for my dream garden, when I suddenly realised what was missing. I need one of these …
so all the birds I hope to attract will be able to drink and bathe in comfort.
In the meantime, this little chap doesn’t seem to mind too much having to make do with a plastic dish.
And others are always happy to share a puddle.

Hi. Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. We bought a new bird feeding station at the weekend with a small bird water dish included. We get lots of pleasure from our birds and have even got a small shed converted to a bird hide down the bottom of our very large garden with lots of trees with bird feeders hanging in. Bliss :-) A x
This is weird. I popped over to your blog this morning thinking I hadn't heard from you for quite some time and it must be time for you to post again, and there you are, a couple of hours later!
Love your birds, not sure about the bird bath though.
I've missed you!
I too dream of my perfect garden, but enjoy what I have. Your post reminds me of the movie 'Field of Dreams'. "If you build it, they will come..."
Thanks everyone. Yes, I'm still around but I've been busy doing some paid writing work so that has to come before blogging!
Love your birds. Wipso didn't mention that she had a sparrow hawk in her bird bath yesterday!! We both get hawks and they treat our feeders like drive-by fast food outlets, always ready to grab the odd sparrow or blue tit.
I love to watch the wild birds too ... and put out seed and peanuts all year round . Over the meadow we watch buzzards circling ,especially when the farmers are cutting the fields , but for the last couple of weeks we have also had a sparrowhawk watching over the birdtable . I may stop putting food out for a lttle while till he goes away . Debbie
I would love to have a fountain in my garden but then I would need to totally redo my garden. The little birds are adorable.
